A 22-year-old Southampton man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital following an altercation outside of Captain's Lounge on Sunday night. He suffered a severely cut lip.

He was allegedly assaulted by four men who stole a chain he was wearing.

Police found the man lying in what appeared to be blood outside of the Reid Street establishment.

The victim was treated at the hospital and later released.

Police are currently investigating the matter.
