A man who punched a drug treatment worker received a stern warning in Magistrates? Court on Wednesday.

Gilbert Grimes, of Roberts Avenue, pleaded guilty to assaulting Martin Morris on January 27 outside Morris?s residence in St. George?s.

The court heard how Grimes, who lives at the Focus Transitional Housing in St. George?s, saw Mr. Morris at 11.15 p.m. and approached him. Grimes said he was angry at Mr. Morris for telling Sandy Butterfield, who runs the residence, that he was using drugs.

He then punched Mr. Morris in the back of the head and told him: ?Every time I see you I will f**k you up.?

Mr. Morris went to the Police Station to report the incident and to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for the injury.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves told Grimes that a ?big strong man? could cause serious harm to ?little, skinny Martin?.

Mr. Greaves told Grimes: ?If every time you see him, you are going to f**k him up, every time I see you, I would have to do the same deal.

?You can?t beat up my man and get away with it.?

Grimes was sentenced to six weeks in jail.

Former dog warden charged with illegal breeding

Former assistant dog warden Gino Brangman appeared in Magistrates? Court on Wednesday to face 16 charges of illegally breeding dogs and failing to secure the appropriate licence.

Brangman was charged with illegally breeding a male Brasileiro dog between October 7 and 10 in 2003 without a valid licence.

Brangman, who is represented by lawyer Elizabeth Christopher, entered a not guilty plea and is taking the case to trial.

Brasileiros are on Government?s controversial dog ban list. The maximum penalty for the offence is $10,000.
