Marley Beach Cottages could be sold in the near future, pending Planning approval for a new development at the South Shore cottage colony.

?There is a young Bermudian with an option to buy subject to Planning and Tourism approval,? owner June Stanton told .

The potential developer wants to demolish existing buildings and build 15 new tourism units alongside 15 new residential apartments, according to the Planning application.

However, Ms Stanton said, they have received no word from Government regarding permission for the development. ?We are being very patient.?

The cottages, she said, were built by her in 1956 by a well-known architect who also designed for the Rockefellers in the American Virgin Islands.

The same architect also built many homes in Aspen, Colorado. He was also the inventor of glass-enclosed gondolas on ski-lifts, allowing thousands of skiers and snowboarders to enjoy the mountain views in the warmth and comfort of the gondola.
