Ottiwell Simmons has represented Pembroke East in the House of Assembly since 1976.

Mr. Simmons is best known for his 20-year run as president of the Bermuda Industrial Union. Although he voluntarily ended his presidency he is still lending a hand to the Progressive Labour Party with his knowledge of management and labour. Along with Nelson Bascome (constituency 16) he has started the St. Monica's resource group in the area, which works with young people to get jobs and address drug issues. He has run in this area seven times.

He currently is the chairman of Works and Engineering Board and was once the chairman of the National Training Board.

Walter Cross, who was educated at the Berkeley Institute and continued his training abroad, has owned and managed the Quickie Lickie Laundromat.

The 63-year old has served on several government boards including Development Application Board, the Department of Public Works Advisory Board and the Airport Licensing Board. Mr. Cross has been in three elections with the United Bermuda Party and he joined the UBP in 1978.

Mr. Cross is married with one daughter.
