Nelson Bascome has represented Pembroke East Central since 1989 and lives in the area.

Mr. Bascome attended Whitney Institute and Bermuda College, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Morgan State University and a Masters degree from Webster University. He has also received an associate's degree in dental technology at Kerpel School of Dental Technology.

During his time as Minister of Health and Family Services he initiated community programmes such as Friswell's Hill United and organised support groups such as Single Parents in Action. He is involved in the Community Advice Centre that provides free legal advice and counselling. Along with Ottiwell Simmons, Mr. Bascome helped establish the St. Monica's resource group that helps young people find jobs and counsels young people with drugs.

Scott Hunter has been “apolitical” up until this election and got into politics “late in the game”. He was educated at Warwick Academy where he was head boy. He later went to Brown University where he received his AB degree in Economics. Mr. Hunter is also an ICAB qualified chartered accountant. He owns and manages Scott Hunter & Co. and has been actively involved in recruiting and certifying more than 50 Bermudians to become qualified public accountants.

He was once the vice chairman of Bermuda Small Business Development Corporation and chaired the West End Development Corporation from 1994-1998. He was awarded the ICAB Fellowship in 1999.
