Three men were charged with weapons offences yesterday in Magistrates' Court in connection with violent clashes which occurred in the Friswell's Hill area last week.

Kimani Fubler, 27, Sakki Weeks, 24, and Kuma Smith, 26, all of Pembroke, faced a variety of charges but were not required to enter a plea as the matters are indictable and must be heard in Supreme Court.

The three were jointly charged with robbery and breaking into a Friswell's Hill home on the night of December 9.

Acting Senior Magistrate Tyrone Chin also read out possession of offensive weapon charges against each for events on the same evening.

Smith was charged with possession of a baseball bat while Fubler and Smith were each charged with possession of machetes. Fubler faced a third charge of unlawful wounding. The three were remanded to custody and are to reappear in Magistrates' Court on Friday as the court considers bail.

In a separate matter, a fourth man was charged with possession of a machete and assault causing grievous bodily harm on December 12.

Javon Weeks, 18, of My Lords Bay Road, Hamilton Parish was not required to enter a plea to the indictable offences. Weeks was released on $2,000 bail with two like sureties to appear for mention on January 8.

Meanwhile man was remanded in custody yesterday after being charged in Magistrates' Court with possessing a nine-millimetre, semi-automatic handgun.

Albert Eugene Allen, 36, of Pembroke, was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge, or to drugs possession charges.

The court heard that on December 12 Allen was found with the handgun and nine bullets for it. He was also charged with being in possession of cannabis, diamorphine and a scale for weighing drugs.

Mr. Chin remanded him in custody for a bail hearing on December 19.
