Kelly Miller has been appointed to replace Roger Sherratt as Corporation of Hamilton Secretary, who retired last week.

Mayor Lawson Mapp said he was pleased to have Ms Miller in the post which she has acted in when Mr. Sherratt was away.

He said: "She's been with us since 1999 during which time she's worked well with all the various committees. I think she will do a fantastic job."

Mr. Mapp said Ms Miller was skilled at IT and would be creating a website for the corporation.
