In Magistrates' Court earlier this week a drug addict received a lighter sentence, because he claimed that he was in the Wings of Love drug rehabilitation programme.

It was later revealed that Wings of Love is a ministry and does not run a drug treatment programme. Rochelle Paquette founder of the Christian ministry contacted The Royal Gazette, Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves and Crown counsel Shade Subair after reading a court story in Tuesday's edition of The Royal Gazette.

She said the 30-year old Martin (Marty) Webb Morris of Middle Road, Southampton was not even on their prayer list.

"We are a ministry who do minister to drug addicts and people in challenging situations, but we do not run a drug rehabilitation centre. I believe that Marty became frightened and then lied about his involvement with us," she said.

In court, Morris claimed that Wings of Love was a registered charity run in part by Morris Figueiredo, but according to Ms Paquette, Mr. Figueiredo was kind to them allowing them to use one of his apartments for their ministry.
