A combination of warehouse, residential and office space in one ?huge building? is being planned for Well Bottom, Southampton.

A Planning application was submitted this week by Troy Govia.

He told that he plans to construct a $1-million, four-storey building to ?make things work for the people too?.

?Everywhere is full ? everybody?s looking for storage,? Mr. Govia said.

Although still in the planning process, Mr. Govia envisions that the mixed-use warehouse building will fill his half-acre property on lots 103, 104, 105 and 105 at Well Bottom.

The fourth floor of the building will be dedicated to residential units.

?There will be two, one-bedroom units and two, two-bedroom units... and I want to make it reasonable to live there.

?There is a shortage of apartments,? he said.

The first, second and third floors, will be a mixture of office and warehouse space.

The apartment side of the building will be closer to Camp Hill with the warehouse/commercial section being closer to the Well Bottom side, he said.

He said there is ?lots of room? on the site to fill a variety of land use, but there would be no mechanics? space.

An elevator will also be installed.

Mr. Govia said he does not expect to break ground for at least another year.

?Basically, I have a property there and I want to put up some more warehouses.

?There is a big time shortage of storage in Bermuda,? he said.

?Someone needs to put houses somewhere at reasonable rents.?
