Mussenden committee upholds World Cup bribes ban

FIFA's appeals committee - headed by Bermudian Larry Mussenden - has upheld the three-year ban of Nigeria's Amos Adamu for seeking bribes during the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bidding races.The committee, which is chaired by Bermuda Football Association president Mr Mussenden, also turned down an appeal by Reynald Temarii of Tahiti against a one-year ban for breaking FIFA confidentiality rules.FIFA's appeals panel partially upheld appeals by three former executive committee members who had their bans from all football duty reduced by one year each.The appeal committee announced the verdicts this morning after hearing all five cases at FIFA headquarters on Wednesday and Thursday.All the verdicts can be challenged at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.Useful website: www.fifa.com, www.bermudafa.com
