Mystery surrounds whether an American Airlines flight from Boston to Bermuda on Monday took off and then returned to Logan Airport.

Acting operations manager at Bermuda International Airport Michael Osborn said local American Airlines staff told him the flight did not take off, although one resident who called The Royal Gazette said the airline told him the flight took off then returned to Boston.

The airline in Bermuda said it had no details about the flight because it was on Monday and referred calls to corporate headquarters in the US.

And American Airlines headquarters in the US did not respond to requests from information about the flight.
