New BJSL cookbook to be launched
It?s thyme: the Bermuda Junior Service League are launching their new ?Island Thyme? cookbook this month, with pre-sales already in full swing in Bermuda?s schools.
The BJSL has offered to donate ten percent of the books sold by students back to the Parent-Teacher Associations of all Bermudian schools in the ?Island Thyme Schools Sale Contest?.
The cookbook, subtitled ?Tastes and Traditions of Bermuda?, will retail for $37.95, however, schools have been given a pre-sale price of $35 to promote it before it hits stores this month.
Students have until November 5 to sell as many cookbooks as they can.
Prizes will be awarded to the top student seller from each school: a movie package including movie tickets.
Meanwhile, the top seller overall will receive a Grand Prize Package ? the contents will be confirmed depending on the age of the student.
Donations will be made to all participating schools early in the New Year.
The book, 256 pages of colourful photographs with classic Island menus and recipes, will officially be launched at Government House on November 30.
More information on the Island Thyme can be found at www.bjsl.bm.
All proceeds go to support the BJSL?s work on the Island.
