A short term contract worker who invited three new acquaintances back to his hotel room for drinks after a night on the town paid the price for his generosity when they cleaned him out.

Police said the victim claimed to have met the trio in a Hamilton night spot on Friday night and they all decided to go back to his hotel for drinks.

When the four arrived he began mixing drinks for them at the mini bar, but they asked if he would go to the ice machine down the hall.

When he returned, he discovered that his three guests had left the room and that they had also stolen several items including an undisclosed amount of cash.

They also stole a black Sony Play Station and five games, a Grey Vision Palm Pilot and charger, a grey JVC MP3 compact disc player with ear phones and a bottle of cologne.

The male suspect is described as about six-foot-two-inches tall, medium brown skin, between 26 and 30 years old, with a bald head. He was wearing a blue FUBU sweater and dark blue Ecko jeans.

The first woman is described as being light brown in complexion, about 26 years old, around five-foot-two to five-foot-three inches tall. She had blotches and acne scars on her face with shoulder length frizzy hair. She was wearing a black leather mini skirt and a beige woollen turtle neck.

The second female suspect was thought to be about 26 years old, with corn rowed hair and was wearing denim blue jeans with patches on them.
