Nurses set to host open day

Nurses at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital are hosting a community open day tomorrow to demonstrate how its surgical programme operates.

The nurses will be giving tours of the surgical department for adults and events will also be organised to keep youngsters entertained, including a teddy bear clinic, colouring activities, face painting and hand washing games. The open day is to mark the end of Peri-Operative Nurses Week this week, the theme of which has been Providing Safe Patient Care in the Operating Room and Beyond.

The open day will provide the public with an opportunity to take a look behind the scenes, as well as ask questions and obtain advice. The department, based on the second floor, will be open to the public between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information, call Loretta Santucci on 239-2056.
