An intoxicated 33-year-old Paget man landed in hospital after falling off his porch on Sunday, Police said.

Police said they discovered the injured man lying on his back in the road outside his home near the junction of Cobbs Hill Road and Marl Lane, Paget, at around 4.25 a.m.

?He appeared to be intoxicated and did not respond to officers? attempts to communicate with him, however, he was breathing,? Police said.

?It appears that the Paget man fell from the porch of the residence?s upper apartment.?

However, a spokeswoman from King Edward VII Memorial Hospital said yesterday the 33-year-old was in a stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

He suffered a cut on the back of his head and Police called the incident a ?suspicious circumstance?.

Police appealed for anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011. Inquiries into the incident are underway.
