Parents asked to sign in

CedarBridge Academy parents are now required to sign in for conferences with teachers and when they attend PTSA meetings.

The move is part of a bid to get parents more involved with the school and its parent teacher association.

The CedarBridge Parent Teacher Student Association agreed at its last meeting that parents are required to sign in for its meetings, said interim chairperson Eugene Woods.

"One of our objectives is to get parents involved and establish direct contact with parents."

An advertisement in The Royal Gazette recentlyfor mid-semester parent conferences at CedarBridge said all parents would be required to sign in on arrival.

Mr. Woods said: "That ad does not have anything to do with the PTSA but the school may have got the idea from us. It is important that parents get involved."

The PTSA at CedarBridge recently experienced so little support that the entire executive body stepped down. An interim executive was immediately elected.
