Parents still waiting for date of St. George?s Prep appeal
More than a month after the process began, there is still no word on the date for the St. George?s Prep appeal.
?Time is of the essence here,? parent leader Nick Duffy said yesterday. ?It?s so discouraging to know it?s such a low priority.?
Twenty-five families have come together to fight a Government decision to close the second Primary One stream at the popular St. George?s Prep in September, 2004.
Though Government will be opening a second stream at East End Primary ? a move applauded by all concerned ? parents are fighting for their right to send their children to the school of their choice: in this case, St. George?s Prep. Chairman of the Appeals Committee Wilbur Lowe said the appeal would be heard last week. Last week has come and gone, however ? and still a date has not been set.
