Parliament to consider legal aid, pensions

Changes to Legal Aid and the Contributory Pensions Act will both be discussed by MPs in the House of Assembly today.

Parliament will open with the consideration of a draft order: ?The Contributory Pensions (Amendment of Contributions and Benefits) Order 2003?, while the ?Legal Aid Amendment Act 2003? will receive its second reading.

Telecommunications Minister Renee Webb will move for MPs to take note of a Green Paper entitled: ?E-Business Green Paper: The Second Wave? which was first tabled in the House of Assembly on October 31.

Finally, Shadow Legislative Affairs Minister John Barritt will move the House send a report entitled ?Proposed Amendments to the Rules of the House of Assembly? to the Rules and Privileges Committee ?for examination, consideration and report to the House.?
