Perfecting art of salsa

What do you do when you have oodles of talent for both languages and dance, but you don't want to work for just one organisation for the rest of your life?

Laura Smith, 26, started her own business and now, almost four months later, says it's the best decision she ever took. With the help of the Small Business Development Corporation, she started Global Language Solutions, writes Tricia Walters.

"Expanding your linguistic horizons," as her business card reads. She currently teaches Spanish to children as young as 18 months and adults during private one-on-one lessons and small groups at their homes. But when the lights dim down and the sun finally sets on the horizon, that's when Miss Smith takes on her second role as salsa dance instructor.

The music is hot, the dance steps even hotter and nothing, this young entrepreneur says, gives her greater pleasure than seeing her students perfect the art of salsa.
