The couple found dead at a West End beauty spot on Wednesday died of car exhaust fume inhalation in an apparent suicide pact.

Larry Trott, 45, and Lynn Fubler, 35, both of Factory Lane, Pembroke, were found dead in a white Toyota Corolla car by a female jogger at around 8.20 a.m. in Lagoon Park on Ireland Island.

The car was found in a small clearing off Craddock Road just behind the Lagoon Park pre-school and 50 yards from a secluded beach.

Mr. Trott, who had two young children, was a self-employed masonry contractor while Ms Fubler worked at Gibbons Company.

Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said no note had been found so far.

He said the investigation was still continuing.
