A drugs sweep by around 40 Police officers netted hundreds of dollars of cocaine but no arrests at Blue Juice nightclub shortly after midnight on Friday.

In a pre-planned operation officers from the Police Support Unit, Police reserve, marine police and ordinary officers sealed the entrances to the Front Street Venue and searched staff and customers.

Drugs were found on the floor and the club was then closed for the night.

One disgruntled customer said: ?It ruined my evening. There was nowhere else to go so I went home.?

However owner Guido Esposito said: ?They told me they found some powder but I didn?t get a full report from them.

?The Police are just doing their job. I am not upset.?

He said he hoped Police carried out similar raids at other venues.
