Police responded to the report of a suspected suicide at the Brightside Apartments in Flatts yesterday.

Police media spokesman Dwayne Caines told The Royal Gazette the 37-year-old white man visiting the Island was found in an unresponsive state by the manager of the apartments.

Details of the man's nationality and any other details surrounding the cause of death will not be made public until the next of kin is notified.

Police said they cannot confirm the suicide, nor have they ruled it out as a cause of death.

Up to ten officers were seen outside the apartments. A small crowd gathered across the street as officers secured the scene shortly after 2 p.m. An unnamed source told The Royal Gazette that the man was on the Island for romantic reasons.
