Police have begun an investigation after gunshots were heard in Hamilton Parish early yesterday morning.

Police are treating the incident, believed to have taken place at a Summit Drive residence, as very serious.

Acoording to a Police statement, an investigation following a specific line of inquiry involving the Serious Crime Unit has now been launched.

Last night a Police spokesman refused to confirm VSB news reports that that target of the shooting was chased through the neighbourhood by his assailant or that spent shell casings were found at the scene.
