British inspectors are in Bermuda to run the rule over the Police Service.

David Blakey, a former Chief Constable of a UK force, began the audit on May 7 and is due to finish today.

Everything will be assessed in a bid to examine the effectiveness of the Service and the relationship with the community with a view to recommending improvements.

The inspectors have interviewed Police and civilian staff and are due to talk to Home Affairs Minister Terry Lister.

Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said: "The Bermuda Police Service fully supports the need for these regular inspections."
