Police warning over body discovery

Police are asking the public to stay away from Walsingham Nature Reserve - including the Tom Moore's Tavern area - as officers undertake their investigation following the discovery of a badly decomposed body in the area on Saturday.

Neither the name nor the gender of the person has been made public by Police as a positive identification has yet to be confirmed.

The body was discovered at roughly 4 p.m. on Saturday by a member of the public.

Yesterday, Police said it appeared the body had been at the location for several months.

"The circumstances of the death are unknown at this time but foul play has not been ruled out," Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said.

The investigation into the matter is being led by Chief Inspector Earl Kirby and the Serious Crime Unit as well as Government Forensic Pathologist Dr. John Obafunwa.

Members of the public are asked to keep away from the area until further notice.
