Politicians are to get a pay rise. From April 1 MPs' pay will go from $35,461 to $36,454 while Senators' pay will be increased from $23,642 to $24,304.

Additional salaries for extra duties will also increase. The Premier will now be paid $66,834 on top of her MPs salary, The Minister of Finance will get $51,645. The Attorney General has the highest paid post at $101,938.

The Opposition leader will get $24,304. Ministers sitting in the House of Assembly will get $36,454 - the same as Ministers sitting in the Senate.
