The Post Office has started operating on its Christmas hours but advised the public that the deadline for sending packages to North America is fast approaching.

The Post Office will be open next Saturday until 1 p.m.

The last date for posting mail for delivery in time for Christmas is tomorrow.

The Post Office also advised that the closing date for sending overseas data express packages for the US and Canada is today.

"Customers are advised to pick up their packages mailed to them from the GPO and all other post office outlets to ensure they have them before Christmas," said a press release.
