Power restored to Ships Wharf after Belco blaze
Power was restored to businesses at the weekend in Ships Wharf, St. David?s after the blaze at Belco disrupted its operations.
Belco communications officer Susan McGrath-Smith said: ?We were able to free up crews over the weekend to go to St. David?s to repair the cable fault and crews also completed repair work on Harbour Road.?
Many businesses without generators in Ships Wharf were out of operation a week after the Belco blaze, but Ms McGrath-Smith said the delay happened because crews were dealing with larger restoration projects elsewhere around the Island. contacted several firms in Ships Wharf including Salt Water Marine, Southside Carpentry, Amber Fisheries and VIP Auto Services to confirm power had been restored to all businesses on Saturday at 6 p.m.
?Belco and M.B. Electrical Technology employee McAllister Burgess worked very diligently and we are very pleased with their work in restoring power,? said VIP Auto Services owner Keith Richardson.
