Family, friends, and colleges held a prayer vigil yesterday at The Bermuda College to pray for the speedy recovery of well known chef Fred Ming.

Mr. Ming was involved in a serious traffic accident on October 7 and remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at KEMH.

About 30 people came to pray for Mr. Ming. The Bermuda College Music Group sang ‘My Life is In Your Hands' to the attendees and Mr. Ming's wife Charlotte. Head Librarian at the College, Daurene Aubrey said: “We are just trying to help the family through this.”

She added that Mr. Ming had been very supportive of the College's library.

“Mr. Ming is so special to us here at the College. There is so much we could say about him - he is such a giving person.” she said. Ms Aubrey said: “We are going to pray him through this.”

Prayers were said by Pastors Larry Lowe and Daron Lowe. And the prayer vigil was lead by Bishop Dr. Vernon Lambe.

Pastor Larry Lowe asked God to touch every medical instrument and medicine that is being used on Mr. Ming. And he asked for God to give strength and support to Mrs. Ming. People in attendance embraced each other and held hands in prayer.

Mr. Ming is retired from teaching and is one of the College's early faculty members. Mr. Ming's bike collided with another cycle on South Shore Road near the Collectors Hill Apothecary. He received head injuries while the other rider sustained a minor scratch on his forehead.
