Premier?s speech will be televised

The Premier will publicly address Bermuda this Thursday via a live broadcast at 6 p.m. to formally open his Party?s annual delegates conference. The three day conference, starting on Thursday night and entitled ?Working Best When We Work Together?, serves the purpose of undertaking the general maintenance of the Party and the empowerment of its members, as well as cross ministry brainstorming.

The event will wrap up with the 38th Annual Delegates Conference Banquet, held at the Fairmont Southampton Princess Amphitheatre on Saturday. Amongst Friday?s activities, held at the Devonshire Recreational Club, will be a series of workshops where delegates will tackle sovereignty, education and economic sustainability.

Formal reports will be delivered by Deputy Chairman of the event Delroy O?Brien and Secretary General Linda Merritt, along with a host of other Party matters.

Saturday will see a power breakfast and round table ?rap? sessions presented by Members of Parliament, followed by the banquet that night.

A well known sportsman and entrepreneur, and former Education Officer, Dr. Llewellyn E. Simmons, will be guest speaker.

Dr. Simmons has welcomed Bermuda?s youth to a summer camp he runs in Dayton, United States, where nine to 15 year-old boys are given a taste of Space and Aviation training.
