Westgate Prison Officers were yesterday charged with assaulting an inmate earlier this year.

Three men and one woman who appeared in Magistrates' court all pleaded not guilty to assaulting Neville Woods on February 19 and causing him bodily harm.

Chauncey Durham, 29, Darren Trott, 31, Mark Simmons, 27, and Kimberly Bridgewater, 30 have all been suspended with half pay pending the outcome of the trial.

Each was given $1,000 bail and the trial, which is expected to last two days, will begin June 18.
