Proposals for new hotel

The old Loughlands Guest House in Paget could be replaced by a new 100-room hotel by next year.That?s according to developer, Gilbert Lopes who purchased the South Shore Road property last year.According to a local website, plans have been approved for the construction of the hotel, in addition to 40 two-bedroom condominiums, along with a tennis pavilion, but Mr. Lopes said the hotel would be built first.

According to a local website, plans have been approved for the construction of the hotel, in addition to 40 two-bedroom condominiums, along with a tennis pavilion, but Mr. Lopes said the hotel would be built first.
Ground-breaking is expected to take place as soon as a building permit is obtained and it is estimated that the hotel will take about 18 months to complete, while the entire project will take a total of three years.
However, no name has yet been decided on for the all-suite hotel which will be located at 79 South Road.
