And the owners hinted the boat could be cancelled permanently.

Owners Lawrence Ltd. said engine problems had plagued the famous yellow boat all summer.

William Lawrence said: ?Despite enormous efforts by all our staff, as well as overseas mechanics, the problems have proven to be insurmountable.

?We are no longer prepared to continue cancelling scheduled tours and disappointing our customers.

?We are aware the has received a huge amount of enthusiastic support from both locals and tourists, and we are especially sorry to be letting down those who had planned to take tours during the rest of the season.

?We are currently reassessing our situation to determine whether it is a viable proposition financially, to replace the engines entirely and reintroduce the tours next year.

?We believe the loss of thewould leave a large gap in the entertainment options offered by the Island but we cannot continue the situation as it is, especially when taking into account the high cost of operating in Bermuda.?
