The Bermuda Regiment warrant officers were out in full force yesterday searching for cadets who failed to show up for their medical examinations.

Warrant officer Chauncey Durham and other officers were on the hunt for around 263 men that were listed in a warning in The Royal Gazette on Friday.

In particular, the Regiment was on the lookout for CedarBridge Academy teacher's aide Ankoma George Willis Cannonier.

Cannonier's name appeared in the Official Gazette on November 22 as a person called in previous years who had not yet attended and was now enrolled in the Bermuda Regiment.

Warrant officer Chauncey Durham said: "Cannonier had promised that he would come to the Bermuda Regiment for his medical examination at 13.00 hours. He is illusive."

The officers checked the school building and the parking lots for Cannonier, but he was not found.

The Regiment officers believed that Cannonier had left school for his lunch break and upon his return may have spotted a paddy wagon. Cannonier later rang the school to say that he would not be returning yesterday afternoon.
