Four Bermuda Regiment soldiers have been promoted to the rank of second lieutenant and their success will be celebrated today at a ceremony at Warwick Camp.

The successful candidates were 2nd Lt. Robert Spurling, 2nd Lt. David Madeiros, 2nd Lt. Dionne Smith and 2nd Lt. Kevin Desilva.

Government Information Services spokesman and Regiment officer John Burchall said: "They underwent an intense period of training that started in February until June. During that period the cadets were tested and assessed in classroom lectures and assignments and weekend camps. "All of that work culminated in two overseas camps."
