A luxury home on Marshall's Island damaged by fire earlier this year is set to be spruced up and repaired.

An application was submitted to the Planning Department this week to enlarge the Island's Belco transformer vault, emergency generator room and the poolside patio.

Planning approval has already been given to demolish the damaged portion of the island's main home and construct a two-storey master bedroom suite and a building permit for that job is currently under review.

The new transformer and generator area however would be adjacent to the property's guest cottage.

"The existing transformer - which also feeds Long Island and Ports Island - needs to be upgraded and we are taking the opportunity to remove another Belco transformer from the main house," Ted Wood of Entasis wrote to Planning on behalf of the owner of Marshall's Island, businessman Peter Green. Mr. Green's home is located on a 950,000 square foot lot. The lot contains two houses and the guest cottage.

Extending the pool deck area is intended to add 430 square feet to that area.
