Research into the Killifish

A fish endemic to Bermuda, the Killifish, will be researched in depth as its numbers have begun to dwindle.

Bermudian researcher Mark Outerbridge is taking on the project under the Bermuda Biodiversity Project as part of his Master of Science degree at the University of Cork. The Bermuda Killifish was once abundant in ponds, marshes, ditches and shallow inshore mangrove bays throughout the Island. But their numbers have dwindled due to loss of habitat and degradation . Now they can only be found in ten isolated ponds across the Island.
