A Canadian research ship en route from Halifax left Bermuda last night after stopping off for a little rest and relaxation.

The Quest, which was moored along Front Street all weekend, arrived on Friday so crew members could take some time out and rest.

A Harbour Radio spokesman said there were 55 crewmen on board the 1,800 ton vessel, which carries out hydrographic and oceanographic testing.

The ship, a converted Canadian Coast Guard vessel, was on route from Halifax, Nova Scotia, but Harbour Radio did not know where it was heading after it left the Island yesterday.

The Quest, is 72 metres long and Harbour Radio said it was capable of operating in the seas around heavy ice in the company of an ice breaker.
