Residents shocked to discover thieves in their homes

A thief broke into a Pembroke woman?s home and stole $100 while she was watching television.A Police spokesman said the woman, who lives on Grassmere Road, was in her living room on Monday evening when she heard a noise in another part of the house.

A Police spokesman said the woman, who lives on Grassmere Road, was in her living room on Monday evening when she heard a noise in another part of the house.

She went to investigate the noise and discovered an unknown man in another room.

The 42-year-old woman screamed and the thief made his escape.

The intruder is described as having dark brown skin, standing approximately five-foot-eight-inches tall and being of stocky build with a weight of roughly 200 pounds.

He was said to be wearing a grey cardigan and brown corduroy jeans at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile in Paget, a 31-year-old man woke to find a thief in his bathroom.

A Police spokesman said the man had been sleeping .

He was awakened by someone switching on the bathroom light.

When he went to investigate the sound, he discovered a white male of slim build, standing in the bathroom.

The thief, who was wearing a light coloured sweater, got away with quarters worth $50.

Inquires into both incidents are underway.
