The owner of Tom Moore's Tavern has applied for permission to build eight two-bed tourist units behind the Walsingham Lane, Hamilton Parish restaurant.
Bruno Fiocca said: "We have four acres and we are looking to do something with it. I want to increase our business if I can. Bermuda needs some more beds.
"It will be round the back, it won't be visible. We are just trying to do something different."
He said he wanted to build tennis courts and a swimming pool eventually.
In 2000 Fiocca applied for permission to convert Tom Moore's Tavern into a house but decide not to pursue it.
