The Crimestoppers organisation is now offering $1,000 to anyone with information which leads to the arrest of fugitive David Burrows.

The escaped 21-year-old paedophile has been missing since June 9 when he broke free from officers at The Arches Clinic in Paget. Those officers are now under internal inquiry by order of Commissioner Lt. Colonel Prescod.

Police spokesman Dwayne Caines has claimed that people are helping Burrows find food and shelter, making it very difficult to track him down. A team of four Police officers and two corrections officers have been initiated into action to assist in the search.

A Royal Gazette study revealed that the cost of the operation has cost the taxpayer more than $7,000 so far.

But Police said yesterday that the reward for Burrows will not come directly from them but from the private Crimestoppers organisation which works hand in hand with them.

Police have warned that anyone who is found aiding and abetting the fugitive is liable for prosecution and will be brought before the courts.
