rg magazine?s special heritage issue will be available in tomorrow?s .

The annual heritage issue of rg magazine, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs, is the largest to date at 60 pages long, and focuses on this year?s Heritage Month theme: ?Bermuda Roots, who we are, yesterday, today and tomorrow.?

Among the more than 15 stories in the magazine is the history of seafaring, which was Bermuda?s lifeblood and is part of the heritage of all Bermudians whose ancestry on the Island goes back more than a 150 years. There is also the story of the first Bermudian, Christopher Carter, who arrived on the Sea Venture and spent his life here.

This issue of rg includes fascinating accounts, taken from the historical record, about slavery and the lives of slaves. It also looks at the legendary Pequot Indian connection many Bermudians can claim, as well as Bermudians? links with the West Indies.

Moving to the present and into the future, rg looks at the modern Bermudian, many of whom claim a variety of ethnic and national connections.
