Rubber Duck Derby set for June 1st
More than 50 prizes, including air tickets for four to London, a $2,000 gift voucher for hardware, air tickets to New York and a $1,000 travel voucher are up for grabs at this year's Rubber Duck Derby.
The race between Ordnance Island and the White Horse in St. George's on June 1 will raise money for Agape House Hospice which is hoping to raise $100,000 this year.
There's even the chance to win a car for those adopting a family of ducks.
A mini-fair for tots featuring food, stalls, games, face painting and entertainment begins at noon and the first of the three races starts at 3 p.m.
Rubber duck adoptions forms are available at Agape House, Otto Wurz, Secrets and Belco customer centres located on Wesley Street in Hamilton and Serpentine Road, Pembroke, or by calling Friends of the Hospice on 232-0859.
Money raised in recent years has gone to buy beds, medical equipment, medication and kitchen equipment.
