Works and Engineering Minister Alex Scott is set to miss the next few sittings of the House of Assembly after undergoing an operation this week.
Mr. Scott underwent the procedure at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Tuesday and released a statement yesterday saying the operation went well and he is progressing well.
Like Finance Minister Eugene Cox who has been hospitalised twice recently, Mr. Scott would not disclose the nature of his illness.
"Contrary to rumours of my demise, the doctors were most satisfied with the results and my progress to date," said Mr. Scott in his statement.
Minister Without Portfolio Neletha Butterfield will stand in for Mr. Scott during his absence.
