Screening to benefit organisation
Cingular Wireless will be celebrating Father's Day early this year with a sponsored private screening of ‘Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith' for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Bermuda today at Liberty Theatre.
Cingular Wireless Bermuda general manager Cheryl Packwood said that with the successful promotion of the last episode of ‘Star Wars' release in Bermuda, the company thought this would be a great event to bring “bigs and littles” together in one venue to share in a world-wide event that would be both memorable, fun and historic.
Cingular hosted a children's costume contest at Harbour Nights on Wednesday and later sponsored the 12.01 a.m. world premiere screening of the movie - one hour before it opened across the US.
“The local and world-wide popularity of the ‘Star Wars' saga has shown great appeal to young and old alike. As a shared experience, we hope that opportunity would provide the ‘bigs and littles' a momentous occasion to make a special connection,” Esme Williams, executive director of Big Brothers, Big Sisters, said.
“I am absolutely delighted and overjoyed that we have been given the opportunity to bring our organisation together as one,” she said.
Today's screening will take place at 10 a.m.
