It is not expected that the Senate session will be a lengthy one today. Senators will debate the legislation changing the name of St. Brendan's Hospital to the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute.

They are also set to debate the Criminal Code Amendment Act 2005 which seeks to make it easier for authorities to deal with offenders who breach their probation. It enables a court that orders probation to deal with any breach, without the need for the person concerned to be separately prosecuted for it.
