The Senate will debate Government's Throne Speech at its first sitting of the new Parliamentary session today.

Also on the Order Sheet is a motion moved by Opposition senator Kim Swan proposing a joint select committee to look into the pros and cons of Bermuda joining CARICOM. But it is unlikely to be picked up by the Upper Chamber in today's deliberations.

A similar motion has been tabled in the House of Assembly.

Today's sitting will mark the senatorial debut of Leonard Santucci, who replaces Maxwell Burgess in the Upper Chamber.
