Seniors' Tea set for this Sunday
Seniors will be joined by Premier Alex Scott and his wife, Olga, on Sunday for an afternoon of reflection and entertainment.
The Seniors? Tea hosted by the Premier at Camden has been a tradition for 24 years and this Sunday?s celebration is expected to attract between 600 and 800 seniors from 3 to 4.30 p.m.
The annual event honours seniors? contributions to Bermuda and allows them a chance to engage in camaraderie and connection.
?It?s a time for reflection. It?s a time for sharing memories. I don?t know how many communities you?ll find that celebrate seniors in this way,? Mrs. Scott said.
Seniors will be entertained by Gene Steede, Bermuda Regiment Band and Corps of Drums and Hal Jackson?s talented teens, while being served tea and light refreshments.
The Premier often snaps photographs as a souvenir for the attendees, said Mrs. Scott.
Last year one of Mrs. Scott?s most memorable moments was the seniors reaction to the live band : ?It was kind of a walk down memory lane to see how they enjoyed it and participated in it.?
The invitations have been sent to all seniors and Mrs. Scott encourages all to attend.
?If there is someone by any chance that has been missed we want to make sure they still attend,? she said.
