Shadow Minister to visit Berkeley site

Erwin Adderley

New Berkeley school builder ProActive Management Systems is to invite Shadow Works and Engineering Minister Erwin Adderley to the site after he labelled a wall dangerous.

Mr. Adderley said in the House of Assembly that a source on site had said a retaining wall had been put up badly.

He said the mould had busted loose after concrete was poured but workers had added to the wall which was dangerous.

Works and Engineering Minister Alex Scott said ProActive was planning to invite Mr. Adderley to the site.

He said Government engineers monitored all pours as did the company. He said they had to sign off on pours or make a report. He challenged Mr. Adderley to say which date the alleged mishap had happened so the matter could be investigated.

Mr. Adderley told The Royal Gazette he had already been invited to the Berkeley site by Bermuda Industrial Union leader Derrick Burgess which he had accepted.
