Six Sandys men appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday charged in connection with a shooting in Warwick on January 27.

They were charged with attempting to do grievous bodily harm to Everett Jahni Bean - who was acquitted in January of murdering Teckle Zion Mallory outside the Paget Ice Queen in July 2001 - and of grievous bodily harm to Nicky Tucker.

Mr. Tucker, 15, was shot in his left foot during the alleged attack at Mr. Bean's home in Smith's Avenue, Warwick.

The six accused are Lionel Jones, 24, of Heritage Lane, Lemuel Weeks, 21, of Somerset Road, Dejuan Todd, 26, of Cambridge Road, Nestah Woods, 19, of Somerset Road, Aleen Sheed, 20, of Cricket Lane, and Bakeer Simmons, of Acacia Lane.

Jones was also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a firearm without a licence, and possession of ammunition without a licence.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves released the six, who were not required to enter a plea, on bail of $2500 plus a like surety.

Juan Wolffe appeared for the Crown, Larry Mussenden for Weeks, Edward Bailey for Todd, Craig Attridge for Jones, Mark Pettingill for Sheed, Kim Wilson for Simmons, and Daryl Clarke for Woods.
